Bill became involved in the automotive industry in 1964 when he started work as a counterman in an auto parts store in Ohio.   In 1968 he moved to Nebraska and began working for a local warehouse that was starting a high performance division.  As their outside salesman, he created a jobber network for Nebraska and Iowa.  By 1972 the network system was in place, and Bill was then asked to manage the speed shop for the same warehouse.  In this new position, he was responsible for bookkeeping, retail sales and the machine shop.  In 1974 he was promoted to the head of purchasing where his new duties had him setting up an inventory control system, purchasing O.E. wheels, mag wheels and high performance equipment.   He was also responsible for managing the outside salesman, as well as the shipping and receiving operation in the warehouse.

In March of 1991, Bill joined a performance rep agency and was responsible for servicing Nebraska, Iowa, Minnesota, Wisconsin and 5 warehouses.  After 10 years with that company, Bill decided it was time to start his own rep agency and William Garner and Associates was born.  Bill has experienced every aspect of the automotive industry, which gives him great insight, and more perspective than most reps.
